Heather is a South African born artist and poet living in Dubai. She has been writing and painting for more than twenty years. Her art gives her a sense of freedom to be playful, whilst distilling strong subconscious messages onto canvas. She studied under renowned artist Grace Kotze.
“Art is a playful visual language. To have that experience where your creativity ‘speaks’ to the viewer is often beyond words. My paintings elicit a visceral reaction utilizing multiple layers, textures, and paint. An organic, imperfect, colorful aesthetic resonates with me. My work extends from the simple thought of not fitting in, but creating colour explosions that have depth and often come from a very deep spiritual place. I primarily work in acrylic with texture paste and use mixed media to assist in creating layers of interest. I am always exploring, playing and dreaming of color.”
